My daughter and I both like it very much. The quality of foam is nice and thick. I have not had a situation yet that it came apart, even when I walk on it. Colors are easy on the eyes. The only thing is that if you buy only letters it will not be a an even square since (I didn't realize it until we were putting it together) since its only 26 letters and one letter will be left off to the side. You really must purchase numbers together with letters so 36 pieces will make an even square 6 tiles by 6 tiles. The other thing is that it did not come with the boarders (and I wish it did) for a more finished look. I now need to purchase it separately which Amazon does not sell (only Target) and shipping costs add up. All in all total cost will come to about +/-$[...] but I think its worth it. The letters and numbers come out and my daughter likes to play with them too (she was 5.5 months when I bought it) and she liked to drag herself for the letter/number. Some letters you can put upside down (the bottom texture is different) and looks good too. I hope it will last a long time, but so far it's durable.

I purchased these tiles to cover a portion of our hard wood floors and create a softer play area for my 8-month-old. As soon as I took them out of the package and began assembling them, I noticed an overwhelming smell of some sort of chemical that must have been used in the manufacturing process. I tried to wipe them clean with soap and water but that didn't do anything to take away the smell. The pungent odor was so strong my daughter's clothes smelled of it after she crawled around on it for a short while. It actually gave me a headache. I'm disappointed because the thickness and sturdiness of the tiles is actually quite good. I can't take the smell though, nor do I want my child to be breathing in chemicals every time she plays on the floor. The tiles are going back in the package and I may see if I can return them and get my money back.

I got 4 sets of similar types of tiles, and the 2 sets from Edushape (the Edu Tiles) are definitely of much higher quality. They are much thicker (close to 1.5cm thick, vs. the other ones are <=1cm thick), and much more durable, reducing the chance of a choking hazard if the baby bites. These tiles are a lot more expensive than the others, and the sets don't come with the wavy borders and corners (which make them more attractive), but you can purchase them directly from Edushape website.

This product is not safety rated for under 3 years old. We purchased it and learned after it arrived that it isn't safe for babies. The manufacturer nor the seller could tell me why this was the case. It also smells toxic. They indicated that they changed factories at the start of the year, so older versions may be safe, but the new product is not.

The uppercase letter play-mat is fantastic. The foam is nice and thick and is very durable. It beats an area rug for my baby to play on as it is very forgiving when he falls and also cleans up in a snap when he drools and spits up on it. However, 26 pieces don't make a square so you pretty much have to buy another set to make a square mat. One caution - if you are buying extra pieces to make a bigger, square, mat - the "puzzle' pieces Edushape Edu Tiles Puzzles, 10 Piece Set fit nicely and are the same thickness, color, and quality as the uppercase letters. The "numbers" pieces, however are inferior quality (they are thinner foam) and the colors are off so they neither line up correctly nor match the color scheme of the uppercase letters. If you need more pieces, buy the 10 piece "puzzle" set instead of the 10 piece "number" set.
