This is a great toy. We gave it to my best friend’s daughter for her 2nd birthday and she loved it instantly. There is NO design flaw. What people have trouble with is that when you screw together the wheel fork & steering wheel, the hole is only pre-drilled to a certain point. The other 3/4″ you need to drill in yourself-into the plastic so that it stays secure. If it were pre-drilled all the way in, it would fall out. It’s like that on purpose!
That said, the a power screw driver or drill with a screwdriver bit worked great. You also need a hammer to tap in some pieces on the wheels. It was easy to assemble.
I was a little worried about the handle height. I’m 5′8″ and I could easily push it without bending over. I think people over 5′10″ would have to bend down. Since the mom is going to be doing most of the pushing, and she’s shorter than me, it won’t be a problem. I hear the XL version of this trike has a longer handle.
It’s really easy to convert from rocker to trike, and her 5-year-old cousin figured it out in under 5 minutes. The seat is adjustable to accommodate growth.
Hope this helps!

We purchased this for our 22 month old son and he was excited about it. He is on the short side so with the seat adjusted all the way forward, he still cannot pedal but he enjoys having us push him. He is also able to coast down our slightly sloped drive while using the foot rest. For the money, I think this is a good little starter trike and we really like the handle so we can help him learn.

My son received this as a gift for his 2nd birthday, and he has used it ever since. He is now 5 1/2, and can barely fit on it (he’s big for his age) but still loves to ride it. Compared to other trikes out there, it is very easy to pedal and is very easy to steer. it also is relatively safer than other trikes, because it is next to impossible to tip over. My only complaint is that we’ve had lots of fights over who gets to ride this trike, so I wish it came in pairs!

We bought this for our daughter (2 1/2) from Santa. Hubby put it together the night before, took about 15-20 minutes. The bad thing is that you can’t switch from one position to another without needing a screwdriver and taking out screws and moving them to another place. So it’s either a trike or a rocking toy. Also, take note it is plastic – including the wheels. This means there’s no traction for riding around the house. On both wood floors and carpet, our daughter is spinning wheels a lot of the time. And when I push her around, the wheels just slide across the floor instead of turning. We bought this for seriously DIRT cheap, as in under twenty dollars, so I can’t really complain. I think it will be better outside on the pavement once the weather is nice again. The peddles are a bit far from the seat too, so if your little one is short, that might be an issue. Our daughter is average and has to sit on the edge of the seat to reach the peddles. Just a few facts for anyone considering this. I would reccommend a higher quality honestly, unless you can get it cheap like we did. Metal and real tires are going to last a lot longer and be less frustrating to the little one. Good luck!

I’m not sure what has the negative reviewers in a huff. The assembly instructions are insanely easy to follow and well written. The pieces go together in a pretty obvious way: it just takes a while to screw the big yellow “pusher/rocker” part together because there are 13 screws. As for the “issue” with the long 10″ screw and the header to the front wheel (aka wheel stem), its really simple — you NEED to have an electric screwdriver or a drill with a screwdriver bit (you do not, however, need a drill bit — nor is it necessary to drill any holes). The long screw is pushed in most of the way, until it hits the back of the wheel stem. At that point, you need something that will help drill the screw into the stem. If you are really strong and apply enough pressure, you may be able to do this with just a screwdriver. Its much easier with an electric though.
As for the trike itself, its pretty nice. Adjustable seat for three positions. Not quite a “big wheel,” but its not supposed to be. This is just a nice toy to tool around the driveway in. And for what it is (and at this price) its terrific.
